Despite the world trying to put 5g towers everywhere, and all of nature disappearing before our very eyes... despite it being more and more difficult to live a decent life nowadays, despite too much to mention here... like your supermarket doling out a whole aisle devoted to chips, pop, and chocolate... still, you must be maitrī.

Maitrī means loving-kindness, it is one of the "four immeasurables" in Buddhist and Hindu systems, and is a pearl of a virtue, perhaps the highest (in my opinion, it beats out upeksha, mudita, and karuna, and one day I'll find the time to write about this). Some might say to head straight into practicing it, while I say to remove the barriers to it (via healing) since it's part of your inner nature. Regardless of how you come at it, Rumi has this to say about it:

"Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there."

This t-shirt is dedicated to David Lonebear Sanipass (with a wink to his teachings and his art), who's a very kind man in his own right... but who's got quite a no-bullshit approach to boot if I've ever seen one, whoa.
